Wet weather might mean sunbaking on the sand is out – but it might just give you the opportunity to discover some other great activities in Coogee or nearby, or simply just give yourself permission to slow down and relax. We’ve put together some ideas for a bit of wet weather inspiration.
Visit our neighbours at the Pavilion – they’ve got a great kids area right up the back of the ground floor where parents can sit back and relax and order food & drinks right from their table while keeping an eye on the kiddos. Or, find a window spot overlooking the beach and watch the rain with your fav beverage or meal.
Go swimming! The ‘dome’ pool at Des Renford Leisure Centre is covered and warm and perfect for the little ones. Or the indoor kids waterplay area with waterslide at Gunyama Acquatic Centre is guaranteed to win parents points with the kids!
You could try iceskating – you’ll find Ice Zoo only 18 minutes by car from Coogee Sands Hotel. Check their website for open session times.
Catch a movie at our local independent heritage listed cinema The Ritz – it’s only 5 mins by car in a little strip called ‘The Spot’ which is bursting with cafes, restaurants and bars.
Head up to Moore Park Entertainment Quarter (13 mins away by car) for 10 pin bowling, karaoke, shopping, cinemas, go-karting and more. Check out their website for details.
