With the onset of warmer weather, Coogee Beach springs to life, drawing sun-seekers eager to bask in the sun on its golden sands. Whether you find a spot between the flags on the beach or decide to explore the local ocean pools, you’ll love every moment. Spending an entire day by the ocean is made easy thanks to the multitude of incredible take-away options to satisfy your cravings, as well as convenient facilities like beach showers, toilets, and change rooms. Guests at Coogee Sands can even borrow a beach towel from reception, knowing that there’s not a single road to cross on the way back to their accommodation. And what better way to cap off a perfect day at the beach than by strolling along the sand, with the sky painted in unforgettable hues of sunset pink and gold.
Get Your Daily Steps in with a Coastal Walk

Spend a Day at the Races
Eat, drink & be merry in Coogee
Playground fun for the kiddos (that parents will love too)
Nothing replaces local insight when it comes to planning activities the kids will enjoy on their holidays, so we aim to deliver!
For the little ones who just need to hit their daily physical activity quota, you’ll find ‘Spider Park’ along the coastal walk just south of the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club. Let the kids play while you sip on your morning latte.
For slightly older kids, Inglis Park in the Newmarket dining district is only 5 mins drive away from the Coogee Sands Hotel and features a seriously tall spiral slide and lots of climbing opportunities for all ages. Finish up your visit with an artisan icecream from the famous Gelato Messina, or pick a café or restaurant for a nice family lunch or dinner.
Centennial Parklands is just 15 minutes by car from Coogee Sands. There are multiple playgrounds including one with a scooter / bike track, and the Ian Potter wild play garden with bridges, slides, water play and countless little paths all in a natural wild setting.
Centennial Park also offers great cafes, and plenty of places to run around, kick a ball or discover wildlife.
The iconic Luna Park located on the north side of the Harbour bridge is a Sydney institution and will offer the whole family a day to remember with hair raising rollercoasters, rides and activities.
Markets
When you’re ready to step out of Coogee (well, just a little way), Sydney-siders absolutely adore their markets and spring is the perfect time to add them to your itinerary.
Indulge in some pampering
Holidays are absolutely the perfect time to enjoy that massage you’ve been dreaming of for months, to get your nails painted, hair done and to stretch out those muscles at an outdoor yoga class.
Start with an in-house relaxing or remedial massage with Massage by The Beach conveniently located on level one of Coogee Sands Hotel.
Next, right around the corner you’ll find Coogee Nails where guests can charge back their mani-pedis to their room – easy! With freshly painted toenails too good to hide you’ll want to show them off … so why not do so at a local yoga class.
We love The Living Room Coogee which has a commanding view of Coogee Beach and lots of classes every day to choose from. There are also a number of fabulous open air wellness classes that run out of the heritage listed Wylies Sea Baths including yoga, pilates and meditation.
